FAQ

  • What is speech therapy?

Speech therapy supports children and adults who have difficulties with communication, including speech sounds, language, voice, fluency (like stuttering), and social skills. Our licensed speech-language pathologists create individualized plans to help each client build confident and effective communication.

  • What is myofunctional therapy?

Myofunctional therapy focuses on strengthening and coordinating the muscles of the mouth, face, and tongue. It supports healthy breathing, swallowing, and oral rest posture. This therapy can improve speech clarity, sleep, feeding, and facial development.

  • How do I know if my child needs speech or myofunctional therapy?

If you notice your child has trouble being understood, doesn’t use as many words as peers, struggles with certain sounds, mouth breathing, messy eating, or snoring, a screening or evaluation can help determine whether therapy is recommended.

  • What does a speech or myofunctional evaluation involve?

An evaluation includes play-based or structured activities to assess speech sounds, language skills, oral motor function, and other relevant areas. Based on the results, we provide clear recommendations and discuss next steps with you.

  • Do you work with older children?

Yes! We specialize in working with older children and teens—especially those who may not have made progress in more traditional therapy settings. Our integrative approach looks beyond surface-level symptoms to identify and treat the root causes of speech and myofunctional challenges. We provide personalized, age-appropriate support that helps older clients build confidence and lasting skills.

  • Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we’re happy to provide itemized receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many families are able to receive partial reimbursement depending on their out-of-network benefits. We recommend calling your insurance provider to ask about coverage for out-of-network speech therapy services.
